Bandari College

"Bandari College was established in 1980 as a training and staff development institution for the Kenya Ports Authority. The College today caters for the training needs of the Maritime industry. It also provides facilities for holding workshops, seminars and conferences."


"The Academic Section is responsible for running the Academic programmes of Bandari College. It manages the programmes by coming up with curriculum, timetables and facilitating teaching. It facilitates courses falling into Marine, Technical, Operations and Managementfields.

For effective administration, it is divided into four units as per the four specialities above. The courses facilitated in these units are as follows.

Training facilities


"To enable deliver its mandate, the college has several equipment for use. Some of the equipments are forklifts, terminal tractors, toploaders and gantry crane simulator. These are used to facilitate equipment operations courses. We also have CNC lathe and milling machines for use for training technical courses.Apart from the workshops and other equipment within the college, we also have access to other workshops and equipment within Kenya Ports Authority premises.

Training ground and Classes

"We have adequate classrooms to facilitate training. We also have conference rooms and ampi-theatre for use when required. As for the equipment operators courses, we have a training yard and also take students to the port area for training when need arises.
