Bandari College

"Bandari College was established in 1980 as a training and staff development institution for the Kenya Ports Authority. The College today caters for the training needs of the Maritime industry. It also provides facilities for holding workshops, seminars and conferences."


"The Accounts unit was established at the inception of the college in 1980.Its function was to handle the college’s Administrative and financial matters such as caretaking services, payment of resource persons, provision of meals for course participants, third party payments provision of stationary and stores etc.

The head of the unit was the Bursar reporting directly to the principal and assisted by the Executive assistant who supervised the cateress, store keeper, Senior clerical assistant (administration) and the expenditure clerk. The total staff strength for the unit then was 60.

In 2002 restructuring was done and the unit was split into three independent units namely, the Accounts Unit, the Administration Unit and the Hostel and Catering unit. The unit is now headed by the Assistant Registrar (Accounts) who supervises the expenditure clerk and the store keeper. The current establishment handles only financial matters of the college.
